What Are You Inviting In?

The last month of the year. It’s the perfect time to begin slowing down. I know, you’re saying – “Slow down, Janette? It’s the holidays!” And yes, it can be a busy time. It’s also the darkest time of the year and so we’re invited to hibernate a bit, go within, reflect.

While we’re in this mode, we can begin a review of the year. Where’ve you been? Who have you been?

As you reflect on those questions, you can gently begin asking, “And what do I want?” From where you are right now, what is it you want? What do you want more of? What do you want to let go of?

So much of our society stresses this idea of pushing, pushing, pushing to make things happen. Invitation asks us to let go of the pushing. It asks us to get very clear about what we want and to tune in there on a regular basis. And from here, you get to begin using your thoughts, feeling, actions, behaviors, routines, words to nurture and support whatever it is you want to invite in.

This is certainly a different energy than what many of us are used to. This week, we’re keeping it short and sweet. Begin thinking about what you’d like to invite in – in general or perhaps  just for this last month of the year. Would you like more Ease, more connection, more peace, more healthy, more money, more rest… ?

If you have many things that you want, choose one for now. As you move through the week, you’re invited to keep connecting with it in whatever ways you can. Write about it, speak about it, dream about it. Notice what it feels like when you allow yourself to feel what it will be like with that in your life. Enjoy this feeling – knowing that the more you tune in, the more you are giving yourself permission to let it in.
